Fields Aircraft Spares in Simi Valley has signed a letter of intent to acquire Skylock Industries, a Monrovia-based designer and manufacturer of hardware and retaining devices for aircraft cabin interiors.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, except that it will include a combination of cash and stock.

“Our customers and suppliers have repeatedly told us that Skylock has the background, skill and knowledge that are necessary to meet the industry’s most exacting specifications,” said Alan Fields, president of Fields Aircraft. “Signing this letter of intent furthers our strategic plan to acquire quality companies in the aircraft cabin interior parts manufacturing business.”

Dale Short, president of Skylock, said the acquisition “should allow us to expand both our manufacturing operations and our scope.”

Skylock was founded in 1974. Fields Aircraft Spares, through subsidiaries Fields Aircraft Spares and Fields Aero Management, manufactures aircraft cabin interior replacement products and is a broker for factory-new parts used in various commercial aircraft models.
