MRV Pays $35 Million for Xyplex Networks

MRV Communications Inc. has acquired the Xyplex Networks unit from Whittaker Corp. for $35 million.

Whittaker, a Simi Valley-based electronics firm, will get warrants to buy shares of MRV stock as part of the deal.

MRV Communications, based in Chatsworth, is a maker of high-speed computer network and fiber-optic transmission systems.
