Kenneth Starr’s Investigation of Clinton

Share

As a taxpayer, I am unwilling to finance the Gestapo-type activities of Kenneth Starr. He operates outside of our constitutional check-and-balance system. No enemy of the U.S. could be doing more damage to our country’s system of government than Starr with his activities, which are out of control.

As far as the president’s alleged private affairs are concerned, they should be Mrs. Clinton’s problem to deal with. Starr has no place in anyone’s private sphere.

Starr is to be admired. He is diligent and tenacious in his pursuit of the truth. His Whitewater investigation and prosecution sent 12 people to prison, including a governor--many close associates of Clinton.

Starr is a prosecutor. Starr is vilified for doing his job--for using the same investigative tools that got the Teflon Don, John Gotti.

Starr does all this while being savaged by attack dogs like James Carville, without lowering himself to Carville’s level by responding. Starr is all class.

Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, I still regard Monica Lewinsky to be an unscrupulous blabbermouth and braggart.

President Clinton is a first-class Huckleberry Finn guy; there’s some mischief in him and a lot of good in him. He’s trying to do what is best for the country and it appears he is being successful at it. It is too bad that the GOP right wing needs to have its pound of flesh, and to hell with the good things that are happening in the country.

Apparently some people want America to be great, as the land of the free and the home of the brave; while others prefer America to be petty, engulfed with snoops, subpoenas and threats of perjury.

We can’t have both!

“Let me see if I have this straight, Dad,” my son asked. “Ethical behavior, high morals and honesty aren’t really important as long as the economy is strong?”

“I guess not,” I said, longing for the days when our president was a role model.

I was glad when Hillary Clinton acknowledged the right wing. It confirmed something I already knew, namely, that we are still alive and well.

Anything the “far right” can do to either spearhead or assist in the impeachment of Clinton and arrest of the New World Order agenda for America would add that much more to its credibility.
