Hosts Japan upset Sweden in the men’s curling tournament, while Canada and Switzerland moved to the top of the standings with their second consecutive victories.

Japan needed an extra end for a 6-5 victory over Switzerland, one of the favorites to win a medal in the eight-team tournament in Kuruizawa, about 50 miles from Nagano.

In another other game, Norway beat Germany 7-5.
