“Aubert de Villaine from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Jacques Seysses from Domaine Dujac and a financier from Paris named Michel Macaux have just released a Cabernet-based wine from Provence called Triennes. It’s interesting that it has some very definite aspects of Burgundian personality despite being Cabernet-based. It has some of that fleshy warmth that great Pinot Noirs have, but it’s definitely Cabernet, with the olive components and the big bold flavors that ring true to the type.”
