Tess: Politically, Not Anatomically, Correct

Share

Re “The Next Big Thing” (Feb. 2): Is there any larger monument to Americans’ weird fear of sex than Tess, the 50-foot woman--billed as “anatomically correct” by the California Science Center--who lacks breasts, genitalia or a reproductive system? I presume these features were omitted for fear that science might incite social anarchy by admitting that humans reproduce or nurse their young.

On the other hand, Tess’ unusual physiognomy does make her uniquely qualified to hold public office.
