Ernest Bruni; Pioneer in Sex Education, Therapy

Ernest Bruni, 59, a pioneer in sex education and therapy. Born in Canada, Bruni grew up in Sarasota, Fla., and earned degrees at Wheaton College in Illinois and Michigan State University. He moved to Los Angeles in 1966 and co-founded the Southeast Area Counseling Center in 1971. He taught at UCLA and Pepperdine University and, in the 1970s, offered a popular course in human sexuality through UCLA Extension. He also served as a consultant in juvenile and family courts and was an advocate for abused children. Bruni was active in the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex and the American Psychoanalysis Assn. On Sunday in Los Angeles of cancer.
