USC to Hold Kilgore Memorial Service

Share

USC will honor the late Rev. Thomas Kilgore Jr., civil rights leader and advisor to three USC presidents, at a memorial service Wednesday at 4 p.m. in its Religious Center chapel.

Kilgore died Feb. 4 at the age of 84. His funeral was held Monday in the Second Baptist Church, where he served as pastor for many years.

He had worked to strengthen USC’s involvement with the mostly minority neighborhood surrounding it. Kilgore was the founding director of the USC Office of Special Community Affairs, the precursor of USC’s Civic and Community Relations Office.
