* The Foundation for the Junior Blind announces that the estate of Raymond S. Laub has endowed its annual ski trips for blind and visually impaired young people ages 12 to 18. The $50,000 gift will fund future ski outings and this month’s trip for 20 youngsters, who will go to Kirkwood for four days. Guided skiing is one of the foundation’s Visions programs of recreational adventures for children and teens throughout Southern California.

* The Fairfax High School Parents Assn. and New Attitude Productions Theatre Company worked with students to sponsor the Melrose Trading Post, an antiques and collectibles market held in the Hollywood school’s parking lot on recent Sundays. The groups raised $23,000 for extracurricular activities, clubs, uniforms and equipment not covered by the school’s budget. According to Whitney Weston of New Attitude, the market was so successful that it will continue as an ongoing fund-raiser on Sundays.
