Passenger Survey Lists Best Major Airports

Detroit Metropolitan Airport ranks last and the facility in Tampa, Fla., is the best among the nation’s major airports, according to a passenger survey released Monday.

The survey by Los Angeles-based Plog Research Inc. was commissioned by the 36 big airports. Los Angeles International Airport ranked 29th in the survey, which rated the facilities in eight categories, including speed of baggage delivery, ease of reaching gates, available ground transportation, ease of following signs, cleanliness and quality of restaurants.

From best to worst, here’s how the airports were ranked in the survey of 90,000 passengers:
