What’s happening in the next few weeks:

* Yasmina Reya’s play, “Art,” which has already wowed audiences in London, opens March 1 in New York with Alan Alda, right, Victor Garber and Alfred Molina as three friends whose lives are turned upside down when one of them purchases a work of modern art. * Eugene O’Neill’s “Ah, Wilderness” opens March 18, starring Craig T. Nelson and Debra Monk. Set in a small New England town on July 4, the play tells the story of a sensitive 17-year-old who falls in love with the neighbor’s daughter and in the process sparks his parents to recall their own romance and youth. * Opening Feb. 26 at the Museum of Modern Art is “Chuck Close,” a retrospective featuring the psychologically charged portraits of anonymous sitters for which Close is best known. The exhibition will include paintings, drawings, prints and photographs. 11 W. 53rd St., (212) 708-9400. Ends May 26.

* The Metropolitan Opera’s final new production of the season, “Lohengrin,” opens on March 9. The Met premieres the Kirov Opera Festival, “A Celebration of Russian Opera,” after the regular season with a gala concert April 23 and 17 works through May 9.
