Forum to Explain How Courts Work

A journey through the halls of justice is often a daunting, confusing and frustrating process, but it doesn’t have to be.

Beginning at 6 p.m. today at Simi Valley City Hall at 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, a panel of legal professionals will take the public through the process, using a mock court case as an example.

Among the panel members will be Justice Steven Stone of the State Court of Appeal, Deputy Public Defender Gary Windom and Ventura County Dist. Atty. Michael Bradbury.

The evening will also include discussions of the roles of the agencies and branches involved in criminal, civil and juvenile cases.

Today’s forum will be televised on Comcast Cablevision in Simi Valley, and viewers will have a chance to phone in questions by calling 583-6355 or 583-6356.
