But there are others, like “The Racing Sausage,” for luge gold medalist Georg Hackl of Germany.

On the ski slopes, Hermann Maier of Austria is known as “Das Monster” and the “Herminator” because of his domination.

Then there’s “Fluffy,” the nickname for U.S. women’s hockey player Tara Mounsey. She reportedly got it after a bad hair day.
