Councilwoman Gets National Policy Post
City Councilwoman Bev Perry has been named vice chairwoman of the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development Policy Committee, officials recently announced.
The committee is one of six that develop policy positions on national issues involving municipal governments.
“Bev Perry’s presence on this committee in 1998 will help ensure that NLC members are well informed on issues that are so vitally important to their constituents,” said Brian O’Neill, the league’s president. “Important local concerns involving fair housing, land use, economic development issues, and work force mobility are some of the areas the committee may deal with this year.”
The group, based in Washington, is the nation’s oldest and largest municipal organization, with a membership of more than 1,450 towns and cities.
