College Recruitment Drive Focuses on Low-Income Students
A college recruitment and financial aid fair will be held today at Cal State L.A. to assist low-income high school and community college students and their parents in planning for higher education.
The event will feature workshops on financial aid, scholarships, transfers from community colleges and application preparation. More than 35 private and public colleges and universities will be recruiting applicants.
“This is an effort to outreach to low-income students and parents so they can get the right tools to prepare for college,” said a spokesman for state Sen. Hilda Solis (D-El Monte).
The event will be held at the Student Union from noon to 5 p.m.
