Blood Drive Will Help Boy With Leukemia

Share

Friends and family members of a 9-year-old boy will roll up their sleeves this weekend to donate blood in the hope of helping the child and others who suffer from acute lymphatic leukemia.

Steven Guardado regularly receives chemotherapy. His leukemia has been in remission for several months, and he has been going to school. But the youth may need more blood transfusions in the coming months, prompting the blood drive for him and others in the community.

The Red Cross will hold the drive today from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the La Palma Community Center, 7821 Walker St.
