ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Kaynar Technologies Inc.: The Orange-based manufacturer of specialty components, tooling systems and related services said net income for the fourth quarter rose to $4.1 million, or 46 cents a share, from $1.7 million, or 24 cents a share, for the 1996 fourth quarter. Sales were up 48% to $43.1 million from $29.1 million. Net income for 1997 more than doubled to $12.6 million, or $1.54 a share, from $5.3 million, or 78 cents a share, for 1996. Sales increased 52% to $150.4 million from $99 million. Kaynar completed its initial public offering in May.
