Robert G. Lane; General Counsel for USC

Robert G. Lane, 66, USC general counsel and an expert on corporate and antitrust law. With USC since 1993, Lane was former managing partner and co-chairman of the business law department and the Asia-Pacific and trade regulation sections of the law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker. In his practice, Lane worked with states, manufacturers, distributors and dealers on antitrust problems in the distribution of motor vehicles. He served on the boards of the United Way Los Angeles and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County Alliance, was a fellow of the Huntington Library and was active in Town Hall. A native of Long Beach, he was a navigator in the Air Force Strategic Air Command in the mid-1950s, earning the rank of captain. Lane held bachelor’s, master’s and law degrees from USC.
