College Trustee Nagel Will Seek Reelection
Norm Nagel has announced he will seek reelection to the Ventura County Community College District Board of Trustees.
The Thousand Oaks orthodontist, who also lectures at UCLA School of Dentistry, began serving as a trustee in 1994. Nagel has been president of the board since December.
Trustees are elected by geographic region and serve four-year terms.
Nagel represents Area 2, which includes part of the Oxnard Plain, Point Mugu, Santa Rosa Valley, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, the Ventura County side of Westlake Village, Hidden Valley and Yerba Buena.
Trustee John Tallman, whose first term will also end in November, said Wednesday that he intends to run for reelection. Tallman represents Area 1, which includes Ventura, Saticoy, El Rio, Nyeland Acres, Channel Islands and north Oxnard.
Trustee Pete Tafoya, whose second term will end in November, could not be reached for comment. Tafoya represents Area 5, which includes south Oxnard, Colonia, Oceanview and Port Hueneme.
Terms for trustees Allan Jacobs and Robert Gonzales expire Dec. 1, 2000.
