Students Collect 141 Teddy Bears for Clinic
Orange Coast College psychology students recently donated 141 teddy bears to the children’s clinic at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
This is the second year that the Psychology Club and Psi Beta Honor Society have teamed to give stuffed animals to hospitalized children. Last year, 100 bears went to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
Twenty-five students started collecting bears in November, delivering them in late December. Most of the recipients come from low-income families, said Christina Bednarski, a psychology instructor.
“It’s our hope that these bears will help bolster their morale,” she said.
