Storm May Bring Rain to County

Just when Ventura County residents were getting used to sunshine, another winter storm is on the way, and forecasters say the first showers could start soaking the region tonight.

“It looks like rain is coming in,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Gary Ryan.

Ryan said there is a 60% chance of rain tonight, with the likelihood increasing to 70% Friday.

“It’s nothing real heavy,” Ryan said. “But it is enough to give us a few days of intermittent rain.”

Temperatures around the county were mostly in the 60s Wednesday, but Simi Valley hit a high of 70, Ryan said.

Highs in Ventura County today are again expected to be in the 60s, with lows overnight in the low to upper 40s.

Forecasters expect Friday’s highs to be in the low 60s.
