School Bond Measure Campaign Is Launched
A committee of parents, community members and school officials kicked off a campaign this week to gain support for a bond measure that would raise property taxes for the construction of classrooms.
The committee, called Yes for Children, hosted more than 55 people, including representatives from local and state government, at a rally for the $48-million bond issue, slated for the April ballot.
The measure, which would increase property taxes by $22 a year per $100,000 assessment, was approved by Anaheim City School District trustees in November in an effort to help alleviate overpopulated schools.
A 67% voter approval is needed for the bond measure to pass.
