Wordcraft Acquisition

Wordcraft Systems Inc. said it has agreed to acquire privately held Next Century Systems in exchange for its common stock. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Wordcraft Systems said the merger will diversify its software product line and provide a safeguard against software market fluctuations.

The company said that during the first quarter, Next Century expects to obtain the exclusive rights to market and distribute a group of software products for the water utility industry.

Wordcraft develops and makes PC software for fax machines and modems.
