The city moved closer this week toward completing two projects in its five-year redevelopment plan by seeking bids to landscape Lincoln Avenue bridge and repave Walker Street.

The bridge, which crosses Coyote Creek, will have a new surface, entrance monuments, lighting and landscaping.

The bridge is part of Cypress’ $6.5-million renovation plan for Lincoln Avenue, described as a “gateway” to the city. The $300,295 project is expected to be completed in June.

The council also approved soliciting bids to repave Walker Street between Orange and Cerritos avenues. The work should be completed by April.

The project is estimated to cost $180,000, with the state matching about 25% of the construction costs.
