Volunteers Sought for Disaster Response Team
The Culver City Fire Department is seeking new members for its community disaster response team, which aids the department during emergencies, officials said.
Firefighters and paramedics teach participants in the Community Emergency Response Team program first aid and simple firefighting and search-and-rescue techniques, said Mary Noller, the group’s president.
The three-week course is free to Culver City residents, businesses and schools, and culminates in a disaster simulation drill.
Those interested in attending the next session, which begins March 31, should register by calling the Fire Department at (310) 253-5900.
