The Starbucks Coffee Co. is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting death of an employee Jan. 8.

The reward, offered solely by Starbucks, was announced by company officials Friday, one week after an employee at their Ventura Boulevard-Alcove Street location was killed while off duty.

“We hope that by offering the reward someone will step forward with information and leads for the police,” Alan Gulick, Starbucks media relations manager, said in a statement.

The body of Patrick Perez, 36, of Burbank was found in the parking lot of Olympia Marble and Granite on Raymer Street the morning of Jan. 8.

Police reports said he died from a bullet wound fired at close range.

Perez’s Honda Accord was also found at the scene with both doors open. Investigators said they believe the suspect may have been in the car with Perez.

Starbucks officials ask anyone with information about the crime to contact the Van Nuys Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department at (818) 756-8377.
