Night Classes for High School Students Are Proposed

Share

Teenagers might have a new place to hang out at night--high school.

A proposal being studied by Santa Ana Unified School District would create high school night classes to help relieve overcrowding and provide more flexible class times. Students with daytime jobs would be obvious candidates for the night school.

District trustees last week gave staff members approval to examine the proposal.

Other options include Saturday classes and allowing students to attend a combination of morning and night classes.

School officials said high schools in other districts have held classes at night, but one possible obstacle for Santa Ana would be increased cost.
