Fraternity Will Seek Permit Reinstatement

Share

The Cal State Fullerton fraternity that recently lost its permit to operate its home on Teri Place will go before the City Council tonight in an effort to get the permit reinstated.

Tau Kappa Epsilon had its permit revoked by the city Planning Commission in November, after neighbors had complained to police at least 25 times about rowdy parties. There was also a report of an attempted rape at the frat house.

Planning commissioners cited the fraternity’s failure to comply with city rules governing advance notice of social events and limitations on the number of guests as the reason for the revocation.

Since 1995, Teke, as the fraternity is known, has been blamed for most of the noise and trash problems on Teri Place--home to about half a dozen fraternities.

The City Council will hear the appeal at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.
