Name-Calling
“Call Me a Nazi and I’ll Deck You” (by Doug Gamble, Commentary, Jan. 18) merely invites an overwhelming and much more justified response in kind from Democrats.
If we decked Republicans every time they or their surrogates call Democrats communist or anti-American, or every time they scapegoat liberals and their constituents for all of America’s ills, few Republican congressmen, radio talk-show hosts and leaders of the religious right would remain standing.

I laughed out loud at “former humor writer” Gamble’s complaints about mean-spirited Democrats, and how “liberals have always been ruder than conservatives.” A Rush Limbaugh fan taking offense at the use of “disgusting insults,” especially the use of the term “Nazi,” has got to be a joke, right?
No? Well, Gamble may not be a Nazi but he sure is a whiner.
