Share

High schools across the county are being asked to participate in a February food drive.

Collected canned goods and other nonperishable food items will replenish the supply at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The food bank distributes items to 296 nonprofit agencies , including the Salvation Army and the Orange County Rescue Mission, which donate food to more than 180,000 people a month.

Canned protein foods, such as stews or soups, are especially in demand. Personal-care items are also needed, including diapers, soap and feminine hygiene products. Information: (714) 771-1343.
