In other Orange Empire Conference men’s games:

Saddleback 64, Cypress 60--Marshall Freeman scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds as Saddleback held off a late Cypress charge. Vernon Jackson scored 12 points and had six rebounds for Saddleback (12-9, 4-2).

A.D. Lamoureux scored 14 points and 13 rebounds for Cypress (11-12, 2-4). Frankie Floyd had 11 points for the Chargers.

Santa Ana 81, Fullerton 76 (OT)--Lohnnie Tape scored 26 points, including 14 of 17 from the free-throw line, and had 14 rebounds to lead Santa Ana.

Santa Ana (11-11, 3-3) held Fullerton scoreless for the first three minutes of overtime. Chris Mattice scored 18 points and had five assists for the Dons. Ben Sanders scored 20 for Fullerton (15-7, 3-3).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s games:

Cypress 70, Saddleback 53--Mary Perry had nine points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists for Cypress (18-7, 5-1). Guard Rachel Kavan scored 19 points to lead the Chargers.

Fullerton 72, Santa Ana 71--Heather Floyd made a free throw late in the fourth quarter to give Fullerton a one-point lead as the Hornets completed the comeback.

Rochelle Anthony had 20 first half points as the Dons (16-4, 4-2) took a 15 point lead at halftime. Fullerton (18-7, 4-2) crept back into the game in the second half with the help of Paola Flores and Angie Baca.

Baca had 24 points and set the career scoring record for Fullerton with 928 points. The record was held by Peggy Reid (1977-79) who set it at 917 points.
