Microsoft Corp. and Digital Equipment Corp. said they will expand their 2-year-old computer services partnership to offer more services and products to customers who need to set up big corporate personal computer networks. DEC, which has agreed to be acquired by Compaq Computer Corp., also said it will continue to develop hardware based on its Alpha microprocessor. In 1995, Microsoft and DEC set up a partnership that allowed Digital’s huge force of technicians to install sophisticated PC networks based on Microsoft’s networking software. Separately, Microsoft said it has filed a dozen lawsuits against computer resellers in New York, Boston and San Francisco, alleging they installed unlicensed software and distributed counterfeit Microsoft products. The defendants were not immediately available for comment.
