ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Alyn Corp.: The Irvine producer of advanced metal matrix composite materials reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $3 million, or 28 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $1 million, or 10 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue declined 11% to $32,000 from $36,000. For the year, a net loss of $7.3 million, or 68 cents a share, was recorded, compared with a net loss of $2.3 million, or 26 cents a share, for 1996. Revenue increased to $364,000 from $194,000.
