Archeological Society to Offer Seminar
The Orange County Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will offer a Feb. 8 seminar on King Ashurnasipal II of Assyria, which is now Iraq, at Southern California College.
The king, who ruled from 883 to 859 BC, built a palace on the shores of the Tigris River. Samuel L. Paley, an archeological detective, will discuss artifacts and lifestyles of the times. Computer-generated images re-creating the original buildings will be shown.
Southern California College is at 55 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa. The lecture begins at 2:30 p.m. Nonmembers are asked to donate $5 and students $2. Information: (714) 725-0267.
