Sir Anthony Glyn, 75, author and biographer of his grandmother, the racy Edwardian novelist Elinor Glyn. Successful in the family business of cattle and farming in the West Indies, Glyn turned to writing in his 30s with two successful novels, “Romanza” and “The Jungle of Eden.” He wrote several biographies, including that of his colorful grandmother, and such books as “A Companion Guide to Paris,” published in 1986. His most successful novel was “The Dragon Variation” in 1970 about chess. He had high U.S. sales with his lighthearted survey of the British character in his 1970 book “The British.” On Jan. 20 in London of congestive heart failure.
