Pepperdine, Brown Roll Past St. Mary’s

Gerald Brown had a game-high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead five scorers in double figures as Pepperdine defeated St. Mary’s, 91-65, in a West Coast Conference game Friday at Malibu.

Pepperdine (12-7, 4-3) was never seriously threatened and led, 44-32, at the half. Jelani Gardner added 18 points and eight assists, Bryan Hill and Kelvin Gibbs each has 12 points and Marc McDowell had 11.

Eric Schraeder led St. Mary’s (8-11, 3-4) with 17 points. David Sivulich, the West Coast Conference leading scorer with an average 20.1 points a game, was held to nine points.

Loyola Marymount 87, San Diego 64--Haywood Eaddy scored 18 points and Peter Cornell added 16 for Loyola (6-13, 2-5). The Lions led, 46-34, at the half, but the Toreros (9-10, 1-6) cut the lead to 52-44. But Loyola went on a 13-0 run in 2:14 minutes to take a 65-44 lead.
