* Bankers Trust Corp. said it sold its Alex. Brown Capital Advisory & Trust Co. unit, which invests about $2.9 billion in assets, to the firm’s management and a group of investors for an undisclosed price. The unit has operated independently as a division of Alex. Brown & Sons Inc. since 1993. Bankers Trust retains the Alex. Brown Investment Management unit, which manages more than $7 billion in assets, a spokeswoman said.

* Primark Corp. said it will consolidate various units into three: financial information; financial analysis, including its IBES International Inc. earnings forecast survey firm; and decision information, which contains Yankee Group, a computer market research company. The company will take a $77.4-million charge in the second quarter as a result.
