“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” “moronic [and] uninspired” (Letters, June 28)? No, it is a program with a message.

Here is a current TV show, aimed directly at teens, whose heroine has a mission to perform regardless of how dangerous, unpleasant, boring or time-consuming it might sometimes be. Buffy has a job, a--horror, four-letter-word alert!--duty to perform, even though she would often rather be doing things that are more fun.

Package that message any way you like. It’s one teenagers and all the rest of us can benefit from hearing.
