Economist Named Acting Business Dean
Anil K. Puri, director of Cal State Fullerton’s Institute for Economic and Environmental Studies, has been appointed acting dean of the School of Business Administration and Economics.
University officials said Puri is a noted economist and scholar whose economic forecasts are sought and respected by business and government. He produces an annual report and midyear update on area business forecasts for the Orange County Business Council.
Puri recently completed an economic impact report on the five institutions of higher learning in Fullerton and has conducted several other studies for government agencies throughout Southern California.
His one-year appointment fills the vacancy left by Ephraim P. Smith, who recently was appointed to serve as the university’s vice president for academic affairs.
