International Remote Expects Quarter Loss

Share

Continued consolidation in the health care field was cited as one reason for anticipated second-quarter losses at International Remote Imaging Systems Inc.

The Chatsworth-based company said it anticipates a loss of $200,000 to $300,000 on revenues of $6.6 million for the quarter that ended June 30, down from the $17,000 in earnings for the year-ago period.

The business had increased sales of its urinalysis products, but those were offset by slumping sales of other medical devices, including machines used in genetics.

The firm also makes and markets in vitro diagnostic imaging systems, and products with applications in cytology and hematology.
