Angels Making Everyone Confused

That was a good story on Troy Percival [July 14], but Mike DiGiovanna stated Percival, at 6-3, 230 pounds, was built “like an offensive lineman.” Can anyone name an offensive lineman that size who’s not in high school?

Mike DiGiovanna exhibited a remarkable amount of self-restraint in his July 11 story when he almost glossed over one of the most remarkable feats in baseball history: “Baughman doubled to right to start the fifth and stole second. . . .”

I certainly agree with Allen Watson’s outrage at being relegated to a relief role by the Angels. His 3-5 record along with his 7.69 ERA certainly warrants a starting role. I hope Angel management has the good sense to start Watson in one of the three games against Seattle in September. This would assure Ken Griffey Jr. of breaking Roger Maris’ home run record and provide a historic moment for us long-suffering Angel fans.
