Wynn’s International Inc.: The Orange supplier of automotive O-rings and chemical products and hardware material for builders reported that net income for the second quarter rose 4.4% to $7.1 million, or 36 cents a share, from $6.8 million, or 34 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales climbed 5.7% to $85.6 million from $81 million.

The company said the quarterly growth rate was lower largely because of a three-week strike at two of Wynn’s major plants in Tennessee and the ongoing General Motors Corp. strike.

For the first six months, net income rose 11.5% to $14.6 million, or 74 cents a share, from $13.1 million, or 63 cents a share, a year ago. Sales totaled $171.4 million, up 7.9% from $158.9 million.
