Manzanar

Thank you for your editorial of July 10, on Manzanar, the World War II internment camp where thousands of loyal Japanese Americans were forced to live during the war.

My husband and I have driven past Manzanar twice a year, on our way to the lush mountains beyond, for many years and marvel at the ability of those poor Americans to withstand the life they had to endure. Let’s hope the National Park Service will create a memorial which will fully demonstrate to many who have forgotten what it means to be a loyal American, proud of country and of flag.
