Micro Therapeutics Inc.: The San Clemente medical device maker lost $2.2 million, or 34 cents a share, for the second quarter, compared with a $1.9 million deficit, or 29 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales rose 62% to $1 million from $639,329. The first-half net loss totaled $4.2 million, or 64 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $3.7 million, or 75 cents a share, for the first six months of 1997. Sales were up 73% to $1.9 million from $1.1 million.
