Details Inc. in $96-Million Merger With Ex-Rival

Anaheim-based circuit board maker Details Inc. has merged with one of its former rivals, Dynamic Circuits Inc. of Milpitas, in a $96-million deal involving cash and stock.

The deal, which was finalized Friday, will allow the two companies to broaden their customer base, expand their technology expertise and cover their market more thoroughly, company officials said.

Dynamic Circuits will receive the $96 million and have all its outstanding loans assumed by the merged company. The deal will be financed through the new business’ credit line.

Both privately held companies specialize in building circuit boards for high-tech firms that need the products made under quick deadlines. Details specializes in working with customers in the telecommunications, personal computer and cellular telephone industries.

The new firm, named Dynamic Details Inc., will base its corporate headquarters in Anaheim. Details, which has 450 employees in Orange County, does not plan any layoffs, officials said.
