Camarillo-based Act Networks Inc. said it cut 25% of its staff, or 69 employees, after the maker of communications equipment posted a fiscal fourth-quarter loss that was wider than forecast. The company, which said costs surged as sales rose less than expected, lost $13.1 million, or $1.43 a share, for the quarter ended June 30, contrasted with a profit of $113,000, or a penny a share, a year ago. Sales were $13.6 million, compared with $13.4 million a year ago.
