National Technical Systems Plans Purchase of XXCAL

National Technical Systems Inc. said it has reached an agreement to buy, for an undisclosed sum, privately held XXCAL Inc., which had $25 million in revenues last year.

National Technical Systems Inc., headquartered in Calabasas, provides technical staffing and engineering services.

National Technical said that XXCAL will more than triple the size of its current technical staffing business. XXCAL, besides its Los Angeles operation, also has businesses in Japan and the United Kingdom.

The combined technical staffing operations, with National Technical Systems’ current business, will have 15 locations, and National Technical said it expects that business to expand rapidly.

The sale is expected to close by October.
