The Geffen Playhouse’s 1997-98 season concludes with “All in the Timing,” David Ives’ six short screwball comedies: composer Philip Glass at a bakery; a cafe pickup doomed to repeat until the couple get it right; a woman in a bizarre speech class; three typing chimpanzees trying to come up with “Hamlet”; menu hell at a restaurant; and Trotsky, an ax embedded in his head, contemplating fate.

* “All in the Timing,” Geffen Playhouse, 10886 Le Conte Ave., Westwood. Tuesdays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 4 and 8:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2 and 7 p.m., through June 28. $27.50-$37.50. (310) 208-5454; (800) 678-5440.

7:30 pm: Documentary

“Road to Return,” a one-hour documentary video about the obstacles ex-convicts face in their attempts to assimilate into society once they are released from prison, will premiere at the Museum of Tolerance. Actor-director Tim Robbins narrates the documentary, which was made by the husband-and-wife team of Leslie Neale and former Doors drummer John Densmore. State Sen. Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica) and other community leaders will lead a discussion about the issues raised in the documentary immediately after the screening.

8 pm: Dance

Monica Favand presents her recently formed, locally based Trip Dance Theatre in “Wanderlust,” which integrates several of Favand’s familiar dance-satires, using choreography by her associates.
