Annual AIDS Walk Sunday at UC Irvine
The 12th annual AIDS Walk Orange County is scheduled Sunday at UC Irvine.
The event gets underway at 8 a.m. with opening ceremonies and a festival, featuring rockabilly, swing and acoustic guitar music. To register for the 10K walk, which begins at 9:30 a.m., walkers are asked to arrive early. About 13,000 people are expected to participate.
Sponsored by AIDS Services Foundation Orange County, the event aims to raise $600,000. The proceeds benefit a number of nonprofit organizations that provide services to people living with AIDS and conduct AIDS prevention education campaigns.
