IN BRIEF

Share

The title suggests another chapter in a familiar tome, and while there are no drastic departures, there are some welcome improvements. Foremost is the absence of any boot-scootin’ silliness, although the electrified Western boogie of “Way Gone” should appease line dancers. Overall there’s less forced cleverness and more heart--especially in Dunn’s fine reading of Roger Miller’s heartbreaking “Husbands and Wives.” It also includes their collaboration with Reba McEntire, “If You See Him/Her.”
